The Hudson Folkerts Memorial Foundation (HFMF) was founded in August 2011 by Hudson’s family in order to keep his name and spirit alive. Hudson’s Foundation was established to assist students who are interested in raising an animal for FFA that do not have the financial resources to buy, feed and shelter an animal.  Students in FFA can raise a variety of animals including steers, pigs, lambs, rabbits, chickens & turkeys.  Buying and raising an animal often runs into the thousands of dollars which keeps many students from being able to participate in such a great experience.  Hudson’s Foundation also awards college scholarships to Tomball ISD High School students who go the extra mile and give back to the community.  HFMF also gives college scholarships to past Tomball ISD graduates who are involved in growing Hudson’s Foundation and are also pursuing a degree in Agriculture.

The Folkerts family is proud that they can offer FFA students the opportunity to raise an animal without having to worry about the financial aspect of it and to be able to offer scholarships to students and graduates that choose to be and do their best.  They know that Hudson would be proud to have his name associated with the Tomball FFA.  They feel his legacy will live on in the establishment of his Foundation.

Hudson’s Foundation has filed for its 501c3 not-for-profit status and should have its incorporation formalized shortly.
